A successful corporate executive, Thomas “Tom” Finke serves as the chairman and chief executive officer of Barings, a global financial services firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Thomas Finke is a member of the board of directors at Structured Finance Industry Group.
Based in Washington, DC, the Structured Finance Industry Group (SFIG) is a membership organization that focuses on the importance of securitization to thrive in the real economy. In August 2018, SFIG featured an event called WiS Week 2018 hosted by the Women in Securitization (WiS) Initiative, a program that aims to encourage women’s advancement through industry engagement, peer mentoring and sponsorship, education initiatives, and events.
The WiS Week 2018 invited author and leadership expert Betsy Myers to deliver a keynote to more than 300 attendees on the topic of “The Leader in You – How to Be Your Authentic Self While Also Being Strategic to Get Results.” Betsey Myers talked about achieving true leadership by embracing one’s personal story and understanding his or her role in society. Betsy Myers also shared best practices on what authentic leaders do to establish meaningful relationships and succeed in their chosen careers.
